Chocolate Peppermint Pretzels
Chocolate Peppermint Pretzels, a fun and easy Christmas Holiday snack. Savory, crunchy pretzels covered in rich chocolate and refreshing peppermint candy cane pieces.
I used half semi-sweet, half white, melted in 2 separate bowls
crushed candy canes
light-tasting oil to thin chocolate
optional -- I used canola oil
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
Place chocolate in a microwave safe dish and microwave for 30 sec. Stir until smooth. If chocolate does not completely melt, continue microwaving in 10 second intervals. Once chocolate is fully melted and smooth thin with a dash of oil if necessary.
Place a pretzel in melted chocolate. Use a fork to flip pretzel until fully coated. Use fork to remove pretzel from chocolate, scraping any excess chocolate off on the edge of the bowl. Arrange in a single layer on lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle with crushed candy canes. Repeat for each pretzel.
Place pretzels in refrigerator or freezer for at least 15 minutes for chocolate to set. Serve immediately or store in a sealed container in refrigerator or freezer.
